This is a rare 1925 Lenci doll Model 350A with forward looking eyes Click Here to see it on eBay. This model was only sold in 1925 and then discontinued making it very rare indeed. The doll came in 2 different versions one with long hair as seen here and one with a bob wearing a hat which can be seen in
Nancy Lazenby’s book. This doll is unusual for a Lenci in that the eyes are not side glancing, which could be one reason it was dropped from the line. Another distinctive feature with this model is that the doll stands well but if you rotate the legs, e.g.to make her sit down, they rotate outwards towards the sides so that she does splits instead of a going into a sitting position. The 20″ tall doll listed on eBay this week is a nice example, well maintained, with provenance to one original owner. Note: the floral appliques are not original to this outfit.
