I have a Lenci doll called Melanie Model L.E. n.905 Modello Originale Creato nel 1927 ???? The certificate is written in Italian so I cannot understand it.
Melanie has a long grey and pink gown on in felt and a hat to match, she is in the original velvet case , I did not send in the postcard when I first bought her to register myself, as it did not appear to be important.I have the original certificate . Could you tell me what section to look in for her and what approx price I could sell her for. Her face looks like Rita Hayworth the actress ???
Here is a picture of a 27″ Lenci model Malanie of 1979. She is from a range of Lenci “remake” dolls that were based on ,but not identical, to the famous Lenci dolls of the 1920’s and 1930’s. The remakes are often seen on ebay, and other auctions, they are often in excellent condition and are less rare than the antique Lenci dolls, therefore price tend to fluctuate more. If you check the completed prices on eBay for the 27″ Lenci with COA you can get an idea of recent closing prices.
Hi Patricia,
Those blog site links are broken. I have a question about a lenci doll I just inherited. What’s the best place to find more info about her? Thank you!
Thanks for your feedback I have update the links on this page.
I have replied to your question via email.
Best wishes
Pat
Is there an email address I could email a few pictures of my beautiful doll to see if she is a Lenci? She has a lot of characteristics of a Lenci doll, but her face itself looks like it was painted with oil paints and in time has crazed instead of only being felt. She is all original, and I would love to know.
Could you reply at my email address here?
Thank you so much.
Hi Athena Some Lenci dolls made after 1930 had coated faces which were advertised as washable. They are prone to crazing.
here is an example:

Hi there, i recently acquired a women’s coat circa 1920s with Ars Lenci label but haven’t been able to find other ladies clothes by this company with the exception of cloche hats. Do you know anything about this? Thank you!
